     SAMMI Awards Nomination Process

The nomination process is multi staged. It combines a first level review by the SAMMI Awards Nomination Committee, second level evaluation and scoring by an interview panel, evaluation and scoring by an independent panel of distinguished judges who do not live or work in Sammamish, and a final weighted combination of the two sets of scores.

 1. The Nomination Committee reviews and rates each nomination received in an anonymous fashion to ensure objectivity, and compares it with the award qualifications.

 2. Then the top 5 candidates in each category are forwarded to the Interview Committee. A different group of interviewers is utilized for each category. The interviewers are volunteers who reside in Sammamish. (If you are interested in volunteering for the 2011 interviews, please contact us at info@sammiawards.org)

 3. After the interviews, the members of the interview panels evaluate and score the nominees. The top three candidates in each category are then forwarded to an independent panel of judges for scoring.

 4. The Awardee is determined by a weighted combined score.

As the SAMMI Awards program grows, we receive more and more nominations each year. This year we received many outstanding nominations and as difficult as it is, we had to limit the number of the nominees who would be interviewed.
